Melon Music’s Top 10 Selected Artists
A welcome new feature has been added by Melon: the Millions Top 10 awards recognize albums that have surpassed one million streams on the platform in the first twenty-four hours after their release.
Melon download and streaming numbers will account for 80% of the evaluation for these prizes, with fan votes accounting for 20%.
Melon’s download and streaming tallies have led to a majority of votes for other categories, such as Album of the Year, Best Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year, which are determined by a 60-20-20 methodology.
There are certain exceptions, such as the KakaoBank Favorite Star Award and Best Music Style, which combine public voting with judges’ assessments in a different way.

Voting on the official website, https://www.melon.com/mma/home.htm/ will only be available to South Korean citizens with valid phone numbers, Kakao Bank applications, and Melon accounts.
Melon users with verified accounts can vote until December 1st, and the winners will be revealed on December 2 at 5 p.m. KST during the Melon Music Awards.
